My Lord,

With reference to Your Lordship's despatch No. 36 of the 31st. January, and previous correspondence,

I have the honour to recommend that Commander C. W. Beck with may be granted a bonus of $100 a month up to the date of Captain Taylour's return from leave in the middle of May.

2. Owing to the shortness of staff Commander Beckwith was appointed to act as Superintendent of Imports and Exports and Captain Taylour has, therefore, since his return been performing the same additional duties as Commander Beckwith was, In these circumstances I think it would be fair to grant him e bonus at the same rate, and I should be glad to have Your Lordship's approval to

do so.

A sum of nearly $300 a month is lapsing under

Personal Emoluments.

I have the honour to be,

My Lord,

Your Lordship's most obedient,

humble servant,

7. E. Stübbe

Governor, &c..

THE RIGHT HONOURABLE

VISCOUNT MILNER, 0.C.B..
